Do we need robots, hobbies and freedom? TOP
Yes, Life is short and we sure have ideas of how to spend our lives. We have something we really like to do in our heart, without considering money, future, etc. These are called hobbies, I like it, so I just do it! Then we need robots to do some task for us to save us some time for the important things in our heart.
Can we choose the tools/robot we like to do some tasks? sure we can, and no one could force us to use certain tools in any way. We can choose the tools we like, doing thing in the way we like.
There are many people who believe living is for other's lives and who think their job is to make others lives be easier and happier. I am one of them.
Do we need Longzox? TOP
Maybe. I create Longzox just for my hobbies of python language and want to help people to do something that shouldn't waste their time. And Longzox gives us freedom. We can use it on any platform, Linux, Windows, Uinx, PDA, Cellphone (I am not sure. but if python could be installed on a Cellphone, Longzox could run), because I write Longzox using a platform independent language. It can check any email account for you no matter which email service provider you choose.
Who creates Longzox, how does the name "Longzox" come out? TOP
I, the author of Longzox, am a big fan of Andy Lau (a superstar from HongKong, China). On Mothers' day 2007, Andy made a doll named "Andox" and later made another named "Hei-Zai" to enjoy the feeling of being a mother.
The idea of "Longzox" came to me in early March 2008, when I am learning Python by myself and really want to create something. then the world "Longzox" came out.
I thought that "Andox" came from "Andy" and "ox" (Andy was born in Ox year and love cattle very much. He don't eat beef. maybe I will follow him and don't eat beef in future ). I make the name in the same way, combining first part of my first name "Longz" and "ox".
They do have some meanings: "Andox" means "Andy works hard as an ox, Andy is very "Niu" ("smart, good" in Chinese) ", and "Longzox" means "Longzhang works hard as an ox, Longzhang is very "Niu" (smart/good)" haha
What does Longzox plan to do? What development stage is Longzox in now? TOP
1. Longzox plan to be a new-email checker or reminder and viewer client first
2. Longzox will have a robot backend to dig the useful information in emails and reply different emails in different way automatically
3. Longzox will have a robot to do some job locally following the instructions in the email, acting as a robot communication with all the people through email
4. Longzox may have a gtalk account and then expend itself to dealing with XMPP protocol, then could communicate with users or administrators more quickly.
Now I only finish the first task. It could check email for me now. Longzox could save my email account and check new emails and give me notification if there are new emails. It could also reply some emails for me automatically.

Yes. I do enjoy doing thing together with other people. I also find I need to learn many things to realize these functions of Longzox. It would be a great fun if there is someone who can discuss with me and develop Longzox together. By the way, I don't think I have much talent in drawing some pictures for Longzox. So it is still not cool or betauful now.
